Rooftop Kitchen at Alfies Antiques

Unexpected Gem of a Café
Nestled on top of the 4-Storey maze, of Alfies Antique Market, you’ll find the Rooftop Kitchen. With views of London’s skyline, this café serves as the perfect pitstop while shopping at the antique and vintage marketplace.
Erick Ayres Ferreira and Kamila De Sa Teles have owned and worked in the café since December 2012. Kamila describes it as an ‘exciting’ experience.
‘It was our first time owning a café,’ Erick tells me. We’re sat in the café on a cold Thursday morning. It’s raining outside, but that hasn’t stopped visitors arriving to enjoy coffees and teas around us. In better weather the outside section is a brilliant oasis.
‘We had begun dating and Kamila said that she had seen the previous owner was selling, so we thought why not,’ he says with a chuckle.
An ambitious undertaking, but Erick and Kamila were determined to make the Rooftop Kitchen their own. From their first day they changed the menu, adding traditional British breakfast food.
All the food that you find in the café is homemade. This includes the cakes, that Kamila specialises in. ‘I’m a pastry chef and I really enjoy making the cakes myself,’ she says.
‘We love being a part of Alfies,’ Erick says. ‘In the summertime, it’s brilliant to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the food!’
The café is open 10am–6pm, Tuesday–Saturday. It is reached by a lift from the back of the left-hand entrance to Alfies.
