VAN DER STRAETEN LARGE GOLD PLATED FLOWER BROOCH
A large flower brooch by the French jewellery designer Herve Van der Straeten. He - I think - founded his jewellery business in 1999 bur now makes a much wider range of items such as furniture and lighting. Most of his current range seems to be very bold and geometric - not at all floral - but maybe this is an earlier piece. Made of gold plated brass - it is large - diameter about 3 inches. A bright but beautiful shade of gold plating. Petals all different shapes but turner over at the edges. Lots of stamen and a ball in the centre.
