Silk Shawl
A silk shawl is from a large selection available and although originally called ‘piano shawls’ it is unlikely that they ever graced a piano! More likely they would be evening shawls imported from Canton and retailed in such stores at Libertys of Regent Street etc. Always in silk with a dense amount of floss silk embroidery, and usually sporting a long hand knotted fringe.
