Set of 8 1960s Rosewood Kai Kristiansen Model 42 Dining Chairs
A set of 8, 1960s, Rosewood Danish dining chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Schou Andersen Møbelfabrik. The Model 42 design are also known as the Z chairs. The chairs are beautiful from all angles, light, elegant and very comfortable. An iconic design classic of the 1960s with their distinctive angled arms and tilting backs for additional comfort and support. The chairs' unique backrest with its swivel functionality allows the backrest to adjust to the angle of your back for additional comfort especially during a long dinner party.
The frames are of Brazilian Rosewood with exquisite grain patterning/patina and have been cleaned, restored and refinished.
All the upholstery materials have been replaced. The fabric is 100% wool danish Kavadrat Molly 2 which is hardwearing (Martingale rub test 75,000). Pirelli webbing has been used along with new foam and other cloth elements.
All in all these are excellent chairs that will make an immediate impact in any mid century themed room setting.
