A very large Italian 'President's' office desk designed by Ico & Luisa Parisi for MIM Italy during the 1960s. The polished rosewood desk top is supported by beautifully detailed aluminium corner joints which the black-lacquered steel legs connect into with polished steel detachable feet.  The desk can be set at two different heights - 79cm which is the higher setting or lower at the 72cm by removing the aluminium tube from the feet.  I have had these altered because they were not very easy to remove.  I had new aluminium fittings made so they slide out much easier in order to change the height and for transportation purposes.

The three sliding drawers are suspended on top of the metal frame of the desk on the left hand side.  The original key is unfortunately missing to lock them.  The inner section can be removed for transportation purposes or if you'd prefer to use the desk without the drawers or as a dining table.  This can be achieved by turning the metal levers which lock the frame in place therefore allowing it to be lifted off the legs and stored elsewhere.  This is a two person job with each side having to be unlocked at the same time in order for the whole section to slide down horizontally together.   The desk has been restored and is in good vintage condition considering its age and functional use.  There is a repair on the inside of the back of the desk.  On the corner of each desk there is a round plastic circular plug which sits at the top of the aluminium legs.  One of them is missing .  The desk top has a wonderful highly polished and deep rosewood patina having been restored by a professional furniture restorer.
