Vintage 1960s Turquoise Holmegaard “Viking” Carafe
Price: £75
A wonderful turquoise carafe, flask, jug or decanter from Danish glassmaker – Holmegaard Glasværk’s “Viking” series. Designed by Ole Winther in 1955 and produced from 1962 but discontinued in the 1970s. The carafe features a Viking Head wearing a crown with a large moustache and beard embossed seal with a circle surrounding it.
In very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or nibbles. There is a raised thin line running down either side which is part of the glass blowing process. There is an air-bubble on the inside which I have highlighted in the images.
Perfect for practical use or for display purposes. I also have a pale green and cobalt blue version on the Retro Living website.
Dimensions: Height: 23 cm Diameter: 12 cm
