A signed limited-edition screenprint by Sir Peter Blake RA, one of the defining figures of British Pop Art.
Created in 2004, The Tuileries transforms the accumulated traces of a visit to Paris into a richly layered visual assemblage. Tickets, labels, packaging, printed ephemera, stones and found forms — including references to Les Deux Magots and Le Carrousel — are brought together to create a kind of visual memory board.
The work reflects Blake’s lifelong fascination with collecting and the transformation of everyday material into art. Rather than depicting Paris conventionally, he reconstructs an experience of the city through things encountered, noticed and retained.
This impression is signed in pencil and numbered 36/200. Unusually, it retains a substantial group of original Caroline Wiseman Modern and Contemporary gallery material, including sales and artist documentation, framing paperwork and a reverse gallery label, linked by the matching stock reference A21413.
Presented framed and mounted in very good condition.
