Beige Yoruba Asooke #1

Mid century Yoruba “sanyan” woman’s wrapper cloth from Nigeria. Irregular rows of off-white extra weft float form sets of three stripes, set between small blocks of woven openwork. The use of hand spun cotton in the weft gives the cloth some weight and a pleasing slubby texture. In excellent condition. A great piece for making cushions/pillows or other interiors uses.
Measurements 6’9″ x 4′ 4″, 205 cm x 131.
