A Life in the Details, in January 2026, Nigel Mar A Life in the Details, in January 2026, Nigel Martin, a beloved and long-standing dealer here at Alfies, sadly passed away. A respected specialist in costume trimmings, ribbons and adornments, Nigel was a trusted presence across the West End, fashion and film industries for decades. His knowledge, eye and instinct for the finishing touch shaped countless productions behind the scenes. Recently, we rediscovered a box of his buttons, and it felt only fitting to pause and celebrate a man whose legacy lives on in the details, and in every finishing touch.
